Why it matters

Your landscape deserves
to stay at its best

A well-installed landscape is an investment — in the property, in the outdoor space, and in the way it looks from the street. Keeping it performing the way it was designed to takes attention at the right times of year. Beds fill with weeds, mulch breaks down, plants get overgrown. It happens gradually, but the cumulative effect is a landscape that quietly loses its edge.

Seasonal cleanups are how you keep a landscape performing the way it was designed to. Two targeted cleanups a year — one in spring, one in fall — are usually enough to keep a well-installed landscape looking the way it should. The work isn't complicated, but it has to be done at the right time and done thoroughly to make a difference.

We bring the same crew that knows your property and the same attention to detail we apply to installation work. A cleanup isn't a secondary service — it's how your investment holds its value year after year.

What We Do

Spring & Fall
Landscape Cleanup

Our seasonal cleanups cover the full scope of what a landscape needs to transition into the next season looking sharp — not just a surface-level tidying, but a thorough reset of beds, borders, and plantings. We work through each area of your property systematically so nothing gets missed.

Spring cleanup prepares the landscape after winter — clearing debris, cutting back dead growth, refreshing mulch, and setting beds up for the growing season. Fall cleanup transitions the property into the cooler months — removing spent annuals, cutting back perennials, and protecting roots going into dormancy.

  • Bed cleanup — debris, dead plant material, and winter residue removed
  • Seasonal pruning of shrubs, ornamentals, and perennials
  • Fresh mulch application to beds and border areas
  • Weed removal and targeted weed control treatment
  • Seasonal color swap — spent annuals replaced with season-appropriate plantings
  • Leaf and debris removal from lawn and planting areas
  • Edge cleanup along bed borders and hardscape transitions

What to expect

How a seasonal cleanup
visit works

01
We assess the full property first

Before starting work, we walk the property and note what each area needs — not every bed requires the same attention at the same time of year. We prioritize based on what will make the most visible difference and what the landscape specifically needs for the coming season.

02
Spring timing — after the last frost

In NW Houston, spring cleanup typically happens late February through March. We clear winter debris, cut back dead growth, and prepare beds for the growing season before heat sets in. Getting the timing right matters — too early and you risk cutting back growth that wasn't finished; too late and weeds get a head start.

03
Fall timing — after the first cool snap

Fall cleanup in NW Houston runs October through November, once nighttime temperatures drop consistently. We remove spent summer annuals, cut back perennials, refresh mulch to protect root zones through winter, and replace seasonal color with cold-tolerant plantings where appropriate.

04
Pruning done with purpose

We don't prune everything on the same schedule. Each species has its own optimal pruning window — cutting at the wrong time removes next season's blooms or stresses the plant unnecessarily. We prune based on what's actually in your landscape and when it should be cut.

05
Mulch refreshed, not buried

Fresh mulch should be applied at the right depth — enough to suppress weeds and retain moisture, not so much it smothers roots or creates moisture problems against plant stems. We remove or work in old mulch before applying fresh material so beds don't accumulate layers that cause problems over time.

06
Property left clean at completion

All debris, clippings, and removed material is cleared from the property. We leave beds edged, mulched, and looking sharp — not just worked on. If we notice anything that needs attention beyond the cleanup scope, we'll flag it so you can decide how to proceed.

Often requested together

Keep the landscape
performing year-round

Seasonal cleanups maintain what's already there. When clients also want to refresh beds, add plantings, or address drainage while we're on the property, we can often fold that work into the same visit.

Why New Yards

The same people who
installed it

When we maintain a landscape we installed, we know exactly what's planted, where it should be pruned, and what it looked like when it was at its best. There's no learning curve, no guessing about what's supposed to be there, and no risk of removing something that was intentionally placed.

For properties we didn't install, we take the time to understand what you have before we start work — walking the property, identifying plantings, and understanding the design intent before making any cuts or changes. The goal is always to leave the landscape better than we found it, not just worked on.

Pruning based on species, not schedule
We prune each plant at the right time for that species — not everything on the same calendar. Getting pruning timing wrong costs a season of blooms or stresses plants unnecessarily.
Mulch applied correctly
The right depth matters — enough to suppress weeds and retain moisture, not so much it causes root problems. We work in old mulch rather than burying it in new layers.
Timed for NW Houston's seasons
NW Houston's climate has its own spring and fall windows. We schedule cleanups around what actually makes sense for this region — not generic calendar dates that work elsewhere but not here.
